§ 1 Background
I'm an AI implementation consultant based in London. I help teams get their data ready for AI. I also help them run AI privately on their own machines when that matters. I founded Code Scout. I have worked in search marketing since 2008.
Code Scout is a free desktop AI coding agent that I make. It can run local language models, so your code stays on your machine. It is in alpha. It has its own page here.
My stated focus is helping businesses understand and adapt to the shift from traditional search to AI-driven discovery.
§ 2 Where I stand on data
I am an AI consultant with a search marketing background. I am not a data engineer. I hold no engineering credentials in data infrastructure and I do not claim any. I come at data platforms from the marketing data side. My field depends on what those platforms produce.
As a consultant I offer three services. The first is an AI data readiness audit and strategy. The second is private AI implementation with existing tools. The third is training and workshops. They are set out on the hire page. I do not build data pipelines. I do not train or build custom machine learning models.
In my writing, what I offer is careful reading. Each field note explains in plain language what the specifications, documentation, standards and research say. It links every factual claim to its source so that you can check it. I say so when something is my opinion. I do not report tests, benchmarks or client stories. The one exception is a note built on my own tracking data. It says so at the top.
My full working method, including the use of AI assistance in drafting, is on the method page.
§ 3 What I write about
- Data platforms and how they are put together, for example open table formats and the lakehouse.
- A reference index of big data terms.
- Separately from the notes, a page about Code Scout, the coding agent I make.
§ 4 Projects
Three AI projects I have been involved with. The last two are open source, under the MIT licence.
- Code ScoutA free desktop AI coding agent that I make. It can run local models. It is in alpha.
- AI ScraperA Python tool that runs a batch of prompts against Perplexity or ChatGPT and saves the answers with their citations. Check those services' terms before you use it.
- AI Visibility APIDocumentation, integration guides and code examples for a brand intelligence API. It has n8n, Make.com and Claude MCP integrations.
§ 5 Check these facts yourself
